10 – Miss Elizabeth
Miss Elizabeth– (Elizabeth Ann Hulette) born November 19, 1960 – died May 1, 2003, gained international fame during the late 1980s in the WWF as the manager to the late Macho Man Randy Savage.
During a match in 1985, several managers who were all competing for the honor of being Randy Savage’s new manager were at ringside awaiting his decision. After the match, Savage thanked them, then asked for Miss Elizabeth to emerge from the back and join him, thus revealing to the others and the world, that she was to be his new representative. Her WWF debut aired on the August 24, 1985, edition of WWF Prime Time Wrestling. In arguably the most notable WWF storyline of all time, during the October 3, 1987 edition of NBC’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, The Honky Tonk Man, while feuding in ring with Macho Man over the Intercontinental Title, shoved Elizabeth to the mat before assaulting Savage with his guitar. Elizabeth ran backstage and persuaded Hulk Hogan to rescue Savage, who agreed, and ran off Honky and his allies. This incident eventually led to the formation of The Mega Powers.
Elizabeth also appeared at a few matches managing Hogan and briefly co-hosted The WWF Wrestling Spotlight with Vince McMahon. Miss Elizabeth then disappeared from WWF television until WrestleMania VII in 1991, when Savage lost a retirement match to The Ultimate Warrior. Upon his loss, Savages’ manager Sensational Sherri, who had replaced Elizabeth following Wrestlemania V, began kicking the defeated Randy Savage until Elizabeth, who was sitting at ringside, entered the ring and defended him- reuniting the couple. Savage and Elizabeth then held a heavily promoted on-air wedding billed as The Match Made in Heaven at SummerSlam 1991. Hulette and Poffo were officially married in real life on December 30, 1984. Elizabeth died as a result of a drug and alcohol overdose on May 1, 2003 in the home she shared with Lex Luger.
